Seattle Skyline Promo by Esther Loopstra

I've been working on a new promotional mailing/e-mail to send out.  I like the idea of creating a more personal art piece that distinguishes me.  I decided that it would be fun to create a skyline of Seattle (where I live) and also include some hand written type.

Another reason why I thought that this was a fun idea is because much of my illustration work consists of maps and I also do a lot of hand drawn text.  I've always been drawn to this orange and turquoise combination and most of my website and materials are done with those colors in mind.

Traveling Perfume by Esther Loopstra

I have finally returned from my months of travels, but I could have used this lovely little compact fragrance that I found via thedieline.com.  I'm not really a perfume wearer, but I love the idea of this product created by Frazer Parfum.  Frazer is dedicated to sustainable practices and inspired by travels.frazerparfum2

"An 18th century traditional method of perfumery the hand gathered organic beeswax is infused with natural perfume.

Each 5g parfum solide is housed in a hand carved sustainable African Blackwood pincushion compact illustrated by Heather Moore of Cape Town. Both the perfume and the wood appreciate with age.

The outer-packaging is a matchbox-inspired box. Convenient for travel."

Trying to decide where this years winter escape will be....last year was Costa Rica. Here are a few hand painted signs I took pictures of on our trip.

I can definitely relate to this "before you eat, after you eat"situation.

I love everything about this photo from the colors to the lightening font to the jaguar mural.

dreaming of Buenos Aires by Esther Loopstra

I'm in D.C. for a week visiting a friend, but for some reason I can't get Buenos Aires off my mind.  I'm daydreaming about being there.  I've never been, but for my next big trip I want to go!  Everything from the color, architecture, tango, food and graffiti! So here are a few fun things that relate to my day dream:

Here is a little film by the graffiti artist BLU on the streets of Buenos Aires.

Design Sponge has a guide to everything cool and designy in BA.

And here are a few pics that I found on  Brayer Girl's blog from her trip.
